INTRODUCTION TO LOV [sic] STORY

A New York affair - almost

On a very cold and gray February day, a young woman from Topeka, Kansas, and a young man from New York City, probably not totally unintentionally, collide in the line for the TKTS booth (for discount theater tickets) in Times Square at West 47th Street. Being young, foolish and generally illogical, and without realizing it, they work very hard to guarantee a future non-relationship. Observing all and commenting on same is a more or less wise Chorus, or sometimes a New York cop or sometimes a waiter in a nearby greasy spoon. He shares with the audience his special insights into the true meaning of the New York Mets and the New York Yankees.

CAST OF CHARACTERS INVOLVED IN THE SCENES
(In order of speaking)

CHORUS/COP/WAITER: A wise guy who’s pretty much seen it all and doesn’t mind sharing his wisdom with whoever’s available. He’s less a cynic than simply a non-believer in tooth fairies.

YOUNG WOMAN (JULIA LAZENBY): A charming young lady visiting New York City from Topeka, Kansas. She is of proud pioneer stock who knows her stern and upright grandfather would decidedly disapprove of her being a phoney even for a few moments.

YOUNG MAN (STANLEY NEWMAN a.k.a. SETH GREEN): A romantic New Yorker born and bred whose over-active imagination requires him to work harder at committing nonsense than in attempting to succeed in college.
